Well... currently I guess I'm unemployed. Contract with a, uh, private firm just ended so I'm helping out some friends with something for the moment.

So a sellsword... I've heard 'tis a freeing occupation.

Not really sure that’s what they call it. I’m not a jaegar, or anything like that.

An interesting name for mercenary... Stylized, I daresay.

Connotations. Most people go to Bracers, y’know? It’s their job to help out the people. Jaegars have more of a negative context. They take on any job, regardless of morality and don’t tend to hold much loyalty to anyone but their corps.

Not that they’re bad people or anything. They just do what they have to.

Aye, whatever they must to make a living. If it puts coin on the table and feeds their family, 'twould be worth.

Literally. A lot of them come from an area that... got pretty devastated a while ago. Jaegar work was all they really had.

That is unfortunate... I wish for there to be opportunities to arise where they can choose another life if they so desire.

But it may be best and realistic to be grateful that they found a source of income and there are those that will keep them employed.
