… Mm. Religion doesn’t run the state in Erebonia, but the Septian Church is prominent. I heard it’s actually a fairly new religion, but it was before I was born — some places still practice animism, which was the main kind of worship before the church.
But it provides for towns and cities, and in smaller areas it’s the main source of education for kids up until they’re old enough to go to one of the bigger secondary schools for specialised learning. Like Thors, or St Astraia’s.
As long as a church's power is regulated, I do think they're capable of doing good, much like any group. Full glad am I to hear that they provide for the communities in your star.

Pretty sure the church has its own military, so maybe the regulate themselves. That being said, I’ve never seen the church do more than work to keep threats under control with the knowledge they have. Couple of people I know work as or inherited Dominion titles in the church, and I trust them well enough.
