Nay, I believe that we should have personal interests for the sake of enjoying them.
I was thinking of a noble in my generation who decided to abandon the usual responsibilities of nobility to pursue his passion for engineering. ‘Twas bold of him, but he is a genius.
Sounds like my friend Angie. She’s all set to inherit the Rogner Marquisdom at some point, but honestly I could see her just leaving it in her Uncle’s hands. She’s not really the politics and taxes type, more of the punch-it-until-it-stops-moving and checking out girls type. Pretty sure she took off after graduating to go on a training tour instead of going back home to learn how to lead.
Mayhap she and Stephanivien would get along, but I believe he's nearly obsessed with innovations for technology-assisted soldiers. Bright man, though his head is oft afloat in the clouds. Bless his heart... Despite being a noble, he is one open to the common folk walking at the same gait as nobility, and provided them firearms.
This caused... Problems. Of course accusations for insurrection. [ ... ] Bright man, truly.
Yeah, they'd probably get on really well. Angie'd rather learn more martial arts and pick up chicks than do anything noble related. Which is why I think she'd make an excellent head of the family, honestly.
People who want power tend to abuse it when they get it.
Honestly, at this point I think she should just tell her. Towa’s level headed, and not stupid. She probably knows. Either they stay stuck in a weird limbo, or they talk it out, figure it out and go from there. They’re both smart ladies who value their friendship — it’s not like they’d abandon each other because of one-sided feelings if that’s what it is.

… Did you just try to ask me about my love life, Aymeric? What about yours?

Certainly. [ He laughs. ] Has she yet settled? Or interested in another lovely women?

She’s only 21, she’s got ages. But I’m pretty sure she has a torch the size of Thors that she’s holding for our friend Towa.

To have another love for a friend is a comforting thing, usually.

The "usually" is a big thing there, y'know.
