My guess would only be good as yours. I've seen another letter addressed to Mistress Roxana which also had a blacked out line, but the words around it was close to incomprehensible.

Some of the dead tried to write missive when they couldn't read, I suppose.

It makes me hopeful rather than dead, they're simply in another area beyond the Prism's current borders.
