He took advantage of a natural disaster to manipulate Jurai into a trade partnership that led to a lot of properties and businesses becoming Imperial capital. Then he manipulated the situation again to get Jurai to peacefully assimilate from independent city state to part of the empire, and used my Pops as the fall guy when he tried to stop him.

The unfavourable stuff ended a while ago. Can't speak for everyone, but for me it wasn't the best outcome. As things stand though, there are a lot more pressing things happening that I've kinda agreed to keep my attention on, but... I owe some people. That's more "why".

... I wish I knew, but I know there are worse in other places and stars. Ishgard's highborn and lowborn banded together when we faced a common enemy and, despite exploitative ploys, the nobles see it their duty to protect the populace. What needs to change is attitude—which is changing. In the end, there is hope.
