… No shit. There’s a gumball out there that can do something that powerful?

[ hei your SAVE SKILLS ]

[ crow just puts down his coffee for a moment and puts his head on the counter and … well. he’s laughing. hang on. ]

… Holy shit Aymeric. [ give him a moment. there’s such a complicated mesh of emotions here — something hopeful, something glad, something sad, something bitter and burning all at once ]

Vax confirmed Percy’s seemed stable since Friday. A few wobbles but he seems like he’s completely himself again.

Or maybe going through the motions worked, and he just had to work through the rest on his own. If you hadn’t used that gumball, Vax would’ve killed him.

[ that’s the truth. ]

So, by the Prism’s standards, it might be like exorcism that went right even if the host didn’t die.

It'd be nice if it did. There has to be something in each colour that can help like that, right? Or maybe I'm wishing a little too hard there.

[ .... ]

Yet, it happens. The loss. Not to dismiss it or sound cold but... it's not as though any of these gumballs offer us the chance to go back in time and change how everything turned out.

I kinda wonder if the gumballs aren't maybe more important than gaining something from home.

[ ... things from home are useful and familiar, but he can't save someoe from death with an orbment art like aymeric did. ]

Imagine if one of them was just "the door home". That'd be a stroke of luck.

But on the flip side? Nothing I can do can save someone from execution, or from colour imbalance.

[ the risk-reward benefits. ]

Ah, we can dream.

... There are a lot of religions out there, aren't there> Can't say I've heard of Halone. But I doubt you've heard of Aidios.

Not really. But religion's prominent.

… Mm. Religion doesn’t run the state in Erebonia, but the Septian Church is prominent. I heard it’s actually a fairly new religion, but it was before I was born — some places still practice animism, which was the main kind of worship before the church.

But it provides for towns and cities, and in smaller areas it’s the main source of education for kids up until they’re old enough to go to one of the bigger secondary schools for specialised learning. Like Thors, or St Astraia’s.

Pretty sure the church has its own military, so maybe the regulate themselves. That being said, I’ve never seen the church do more than work to keep threats under control with the knowledge they have. Couple of people I know work as or inherited Dominion titles in the church, and I trust them well enough.

[ crow: not explaining the hierarchy of the gralsritter ]

Aw, you didn’t wear robes and sing carols? I think that would’ve been kinda fun to see.

[ yeah imagine if they were evil. this might be one of the only examples of the church not collectively sucking in videogames in ages. also the best boy in the sky series is a dominion, so it can't be all that bad? ]

... And what, do all the vitamins you've been collectively eating for the past 20 years kick in all at once?
