… I’ve heard about the fact your nation is full on embroiled in war from your friend, but. There’s being heavily involved in war and then there’s whatever the heck you’re talking about.
Internal and external conflict? That’s never easy to juggle at any point.
Nay, but I had anticipated the uproar from the pious and clergy. Unfortunately, you can only prepare so much for war and internal disputes. We managed... And are in the midst of comforting those scarred by war and its effects.
[ Sometimes you just gotta. ]
I can say there are struggles for an espionage handling a coup d'état as well.
... yeah. War's always fought on so many levels than just two countries clashing. People end up dealing with the brunt of it, no matter how fast or neatly it's all wrapped up.
[ sometimes you just gotta war though. in JRPGS. ]
Intelligence services are a pain in the ass to deal with. But I guess you'd be the one running the show and directing them around huh?
He took advantage of a natural disaster to manipulate Jurai into a trade partnership that led to a lot of properties and businesses becoming Imperial capital. Then he manipulated the situation again to get Jurai to peacefully assimilate from independent city state to part of the empire, and used my Pops as the fall guy when he tried to stop him.
... People can move on while you're still in their thoughts, Crow.
[ Binch. ]
You told me before that the results of your actions were unfavorable and you were where you were because of it... Doing what you can. It almost sounds like you changed paths.
[ he can't hear him over the sound of his emotional suppression, thanks. ]
The unfavourable stuff ended a while ago. Can't speak for everyone, but for me it wasn't the best outcome. As things stand though, there are a lot more pressing things happening that I've kinda agreed to keep my attention on, but... I owe some people. That's more "why".
[ too much typing other things, only spelling errors now. ]
Not really, but we'd be here forever. They're the kind of people who friendship speech you into a corner and will always look for a third path if given two options that suck.

Oh, the gun? … You’re a politics guy. It’s a lot to do with politics, and my ability to hold a grudge.

[ He gives a small smile at that. Sometimes! As we all know! War escalates. ]
He had a hand in Jurai, had he?

I could. This place keeps dragging that out of me at the worst moments. Might as well get something out of it.
[ haha. ]
Pops got ill about six months after he was ousted from his position as Mayor. He didn't really have it in him to fight it.

[ it's not but it's not tuesday so there's no fire to call him out. ]

... It could be a millennia ago and it can be not fine, Crow. Death weighs as it should.

It has to be, or we'd all stop moving. Don't worry, I've got plenty to be focusing on that isn't... y'know. All that.
At least, I do nowadays.
